Introduction to Language Center

Language Center

The Language Center of National United University was founded in 2003. Its mission is to design foreign language curricula and implement teaching. Every semester quality English courses are offered to enhance students’ English proficiency and help them obtain certificate of nationally-recognized standardized tests. To equip students with global competitiveness, a great variety of second foreign language courses, including Japanese, French, and Korean are available, too. We keep up with the implementation of the school’s development plans as we head toward internationalization and teaching excellence in foreign language teaching. The LC aims to increase students’ language ability so that they can expand their horizons. Furthermore, it will provide foreign language courses that support professional success in the global contexts of our students. Faculty members include one director, 11 full-time teachers, and one assistant. Its office is located on the 7th floor of the Industrial Research, Innovation & Promotion Building, First Campus (Erping Campus).

In response to teaching needs and higher education trends toward international mobility, in 2003, NUU formally established the Language Center. The Center works to strengthen the diversity of language learning environments and enhance students’ career competitiveness. In order to help students receive certification in foreign languages, the Center has proactively offered many language courses, and gives substantial rewards to encourage students to take domestic and foreign language certification tests (the GEPT, TOEIC, TOEFL iBT, JLPT, TOPIK, etc.). The Center also offers a variety of additional services, depending on learners' needs.
